“Modern Times is the first song and chapter of our magnum opus, rock novel, `Life Factory`: The Story Of The Working Man in search of hope and truth. The music video was directed by David Lombroso and shot primarily in the Parisian Business District of La Defense. In May 2011, Charlotte & Magon shot the short film with the New-York director in the Israeli Judean desert, including a soundtrack from one of Life Factory`s’ tracks, ‘Dice’. The film will be released in the beginning of 2012″.
Looking back, it was early April 2009 that we posted material on Charlotte & Magon`s smooth and sensual debut release `Love Happening`, describing the European duo`s work as “Sensual Seventies Pop, Lounge music played intensely and carefully instructed not to shout. Overall a very smart combination, too random to be labelled chill out and too much love in a sense to be experimental“.
Two years on and the sound has adopted an electronic feel, Charlotte & Magon`s melodic relationship has moved forward, hushed vocals are replaced with an angelic celebration and the retrospective Lounge-Pop is boosted by gnarly snare drums. Their meeting was delightfully poetic while their elegant musical style continues to propel modern Pop imagery.
