Sam Friend, A Ghost Poet With Lyrical Wiles, Undying Melodies And Shaggy Dreams.

“Following a successful US tour and residency at the Living Room in NYC’s Lower East Side, Miami folk artist Sam Friend releases the music video for `Find Fine Light`, the first single from his upcoming album, Spirit Mirror”.

Sam Friend`s enigmatic storytelling is a touching example of bouncy Folk-Pop and dark edged melodies. I absolutely adored the 2008 video release of `Part of the show` but admittedly found the majority of work on `Secure and Fastened for Daisy Buchanan` leaning towards a subtle overload of artistic heaviness. A few listens into the `Spirit Mirror` four track sampler and any previous musical notions are strapped into a NASA wind tunnel and exquisitely banished. The track `Bedlam` is one tambourine shake from an Indie anthem and `High Hives`  pushes his preferred mellower genre Jazz/Blues-wards with a rattly piano and a double fretted guitar riff. Healthy times ahead, we`re already talking about this release while still trying to indulge in last month`s playlist.

“Sam Friend is in a world of his own — a ghost poet with lyrical wiles, undying melodies, and shaggy dreams. Originally from Miami, FL, Sam Friend evokes the inventive effusions of Beat Generation poets and forward-thinking folk artists in his music, creating songs that both enthrall and unsettle with equal temerity. Now based in Brooklyn, he continues to honor his roots with thoughtful songwriting and arresting live performances, collecting new friends and fans every turn of the way. Sam Friend is currently finishing production on his forthcoming album, Spirit Mirror”.
