“WhiteMoor formed in April 2009 from the remains of three of Derby’s finest bands Ejectorseat (Attack Attack Attack + Not My Girl), You-V-Me (Fear, Love and Excitement) and The Beau Peepshow (Love Makes My Head Hurt). Hailed as somewhat of a rogue on the mainstream indie scene, WhiteMoor manage to capture the electric essence of The Killers whilst still holding down the dark atmospheric sounds of visionaries such as New Order and The Doors. Following the success of their debut single ‘Three Words’ That reached numer 88 in the download chart, WhiteMoor released their debut album on Sound-Hub Records in Janurary 2011 to great critical acclaim. The blistering self-titled record found the band exploding onto the scene, boasting a stunningly unique, yet classic indie live sound”.
WhiteMoor`s raggedly intense and free flowing Indie rock is technically superb, a brilliant vindication of time well spent in the rehearsal studio – Right from the offset WhiteMoor`s self-titled debut album is equal to almost anything that`s recently been ripped to a small piece of circular plastic or vinyl. It can be disconcerting being audibly blown away by the lead track only to hear the remainder fade into an unbearable whimper, so thankfully there`s no letup from the ultra-confident five-piece`s appropriation with pulsing Indie rhythms – The album flirts with businesslike Rock anthems and electronic Indie trends at an incredible pace. Tasty melodic guitar riffs hold together a softer side, almost emotional adhesion for the eloquently charming lyrics which only serve to heighten the album`s atmosphere.
Redolent strains of 90`s Brit-Pop and creative hysteria, the passionate listener will hear a contrary set of influences ranging from the Stereophonics and Manics to Bloc Party and The Killers. By cautiously mixing their style and musical formula, these Derby based musicians have one foot in Rock`N Roll slumber, the other in phenomenal success. WhiteMoor are currently recording their second album due for release on Sound-Hub Records Summer 2012.
