We first featured `The Fades` towards the end of 2006 with the powerfully self-destructive track `Kalashnikov`- Fast forward a couple of classic Indie-Rock long players and a handful of explosive EP`s, the Richmond four-piece are set to shake the iconic London venue `The Borderline` from it`s Soho foundations. The new release dips into perpetual Punk-Rock melodies and their trademark lyrical negativity, these guys won`t go down without a musical argument. I`m quite relieved The Fades overall sound and approach to making music hasn’t altered for trends sake, the formula remains largely unchanged with maybe a darker, slightly meaner edge. If your ears indulge in a spot of Maximo Park, Hives or Kasabian and openly reject the conventional alternative radio rock, Ragnarok could certainly be the answer.
