“Huddersfield Indie band Silence Rises formed in 2010 and are now creating a real buzz with their well crafted alternative guitar/synth sound. Having recently been featured on the well respected BBC 6Music introducing mixtape and getting airplay on the prestigious ‘BBC Introducing With Tom Robinson’ radio show, Silence Rises are starting to catch the eye of big names in the music industry. Recent highlights include shows in 2012 with The Chevin and the band being selected by indie legends The Wedding Present to support them on 2011 UK tour dates. The band were also selected by Tim Burgess and a panel of music representatives to play the 2011 Friends of Mine Festival”.
I came across Silence Rises quite by accident, the result of clicking a random Soundcloud link does sometimes pay off, more often than not though. Enigmatically clean Indie-Pop full of passionate lyrical hooks and bubbly guitar jangle, their sound has a propulsive flow reminiscent of early James, Radiohead, Modest Mouse and Elbow – innovative stuff this, it`s satisfying to know that any future endeavours from Silence Rises will only get considerably more complex in personality and sound. The latest single `Feeling Clever` was recorded at Loom Studios in Leeds with Producer Grant Henderson and mixed by Steve Whitfield (The Cure, Shed Seven, The Pale Saints and Trash Can Sinatras) – The band and assisted technical talent have come up with a delicate radio friendly track which lays down the vocal as a harmonious foundation leaving a warm and intoxicating musical aftertaste.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you…..I stumbled upon this band at the roadhouse in Manchester on a boozy nite out with friends..
They blew me away….I was stood in a crowd of about 70 people, thinking these guys are too good to be playing to such a small crowd… I had a look on their website, and the songs on there, especially ‘shallow water ‘ all stood out..very melodic, well played songs…they deserve better….I hope they grow so I can watch them play in a bigger venue with a crowd they deserve……I’m keeping my eye on them….top band!!
