London Based Garage-Blues Outfit Hot Fiction, Apply Within. October 18th Release Date.

“Hot Fiction are a hotly tipped English Soul/Rock band. They’ve been aired on Absolute Radio, courted by Christian Dior and featured by Festivals up-and-down the country. The band are about to release their second album, Apply Within. The two members, Andy Yeoh (Drums & Vocals) and Simon Miller (Guitar & Vocals) met in school, where their shared musical understanding began to take root. By the time the pair finished university in 2008, both were experienced musicians with plenty of song-writing and performance experience. It was only natural that Hot Fiction, formed in 2008, would follow. The band continued to gig regularly in venues all over the country, finding their center of gravity in London, where the pair gained a cult following. The release of the band’s first album Dark Room brought an international dimension to the band’s success, attracting a new wave of fans, particularly in the US, Spain & France”.

It`s countdown until Hot Fiction unleash their follow-up to the hard hitting, foot stomping debut album `Dark Room`. Two years in the making, `Apply Within`will be released on a creative commons license, which means that it will be free to download or stream at your pleasure. The London based bluesome twosome (self description) will muster huge fascination with their heroic Electric-Blues, these guys conduct their business with extraordinary freshness and pure class. The new album flirts with sweat soaked bar-room Rock and Roll like an explosive Molotov cocktail swagger – Space is allowed for occasionally slowing down the momentum, three or four tracks are blessed with some sumptuous bluesy reverb reminiscent of early `Free` or `Ten Years After`, if Dark Room was in a similar mold to The White Stripes/Black Keys, Hot Fiction`s sophomore release has broken a certain Mr Phil Spector out of jail for wholesale production duties. How just two guys can torture a defenseless fuse-box in this manner is majestic.

“The band’s DIY recordings have evolved from lo-fi to full-blown ‘medium-fidelity’, with operations moving from the cellar to the garage. This is a mature and powerful album that looks set to blow you away with both its meaning and its method”.
